List of current and previous merchandise
The following is a list of current and previous merchandise made for Bittersweet Candy Bowl. Veronica and Oliver have been selling physical goods since around 2010,[1] ranging from plush toys and charms to posters, stationery and one card game, through the store at bittersweetcandybowl.com, their Kickstarter campaigns and their convention tables.
Most of the catalogue is history now. The 20th-anniversary “archive sale” of March and April 2026 cleared out much of the non-book stock, and the store has been closed since April 13, 2026 while the authors complete their international move.[2][3] Veronica has said that future merchandise will mostly mean books, “because books are the easiest things to ship from the US using a service”.[4]
Books
Bittersweet Candy Bowl has been collected into seven numbered print volumes, along with the remastered Omnibus and the Ask Roseville High companion book. Most of them were funded through Kickstarter campaigns and sold through the store, with eBook editions alongside.[5] Every edition is covered in detail at List of books.
Plush toys and figurines
Plush toys

Veronica and Oliver introduced the plush line through the 2015 “Book, Plush & Merch Extravaganza” Kickstarter, which funded 8″ Mike, Lucy and Paulo plush toys alongside Volume Four.[6] Daisy followed as a stretchgoal of the Volume Five campaign in 2017, designed “to match Lucy, Mike and Paulo”. Per the campaign, she was skipped the first time around “due to the added complexities of her design”.[7] Augustus completed the set in 2024, sporting a cape that comes off via button clasps. Kickstarter backers could also grab an exclusive second outfit for him, a tiny hoodie with a silk-screened basketball borrowed from Jordan’s wardrobe.[8] He reached the ordinary store that December.[9]
As of December 2024, all five plushes stood 8″ head to toe on weighted bases. They were “fully accessorized with ribbon, scarf, necklace, fringe(?) and removable cape” in the store’s own words, and sold individually or as a five-plush bundle.[5]
Figurines

The plush toys were preceded by BCB’s cold-cast resin Lucy figurine. It was announced in December 2011 with its own promotional mini-site and was in the store by Christmas.[10][11] Its store career was patchy. The figurine had been withdrawn by July 2012.[12] It was offered in the Starting Over campaign’s merchandise bundles that August,[13] and returned to the store that November.[14] It was gone again by May 2017.[15]
For the Volume Six Kickstarter of 2018, Veronica and Oliver brought the leftovers back. They found a forgotten box of figurines, each one stashed away in “a tiny burlap sack because it seemed funny enough at the time”. The campaign’s Gold Editions included them as the numbered, signed set of 75 sack Lucys.[16] The later Platinum Editions added velvet-bag Lucys. Those were fewer than sixty figurines from a batch abandoned in an Arizona apartment complex. Some had surfaced on eBay mislabeled as a “VERY RARE SONIC THE HEDGE HOG PROTO-TYPE ANGRY GIRL CHARACTER”, and the authors later bought the remaining figurines back from the seller.[16] The last reserve figurines went up for sale during the 2026 anniversary sale.[2]

The Lucy USB figurine is a separate product entirely, funded by the Volume Seven campaign in 2024. It’s a 3.8″ PVC Lucy in her Eternal Flame outfit, and her head pulls off to reveal an 8GB flash drive loaded with the complete BCB eBook library and “nostalgic bonus content”.[8][5] It joined the ordinary store that December alongside the Augustus plush.[9]
Other merchandise
Charms, keychains and buttons

Veronica and Oliver sold the charms and keychains in three distinct generations, with campaign exclusives offered in between.[12][7]
- Acrylic charms: The store’s original charm line of 1½″ acrylic character designs. April 2011 added “Cardcaptor Rachel and cool dude Augustus” to the roster, and ten designs were on sale by that autumn.[17][18] The line had sold out by mid-2012.[12]
- PVC keychain charms: The replacement generation of 1½″ PVC rubber charms on black nylon loops, prepared in 2012 as the acrylics cleared out. They were later sold in two character packs.[12][5]
- Double-layer acrylic charms: A ten-character line funded by the Volume Five campaign in 2017, covering Rachel, Augustus, Paulo, Sue, Daisy, Abbey, Lucy, David, Mike and Sandy.[7] The campaign described them as 2.2″ tall, while the December 2024 store catalogue called them “chunky 2¼″ double-sided” charms with color-coded cords or chains.[5]
- Campaign exclusives: A Jessica charm went to every backer of Starting Over in 2012,[13] and a Claret, Matt and Madison keyring set came with Volume Six.[16] The Omnibus campaign of 2020 offered “a unique acrylic charm that celebrates the omnibus style”.[19]
- Buttons: In 2011, Veronica and Oliver sold 2¼″ team badges, Team Daisy and Team Sandy among them, then replaced them with a smaller 1½″ set by Christmas.[18][11] By 2019, they were advertising “a button for basically every character”.[20] The December 2024 catalogue listed some twenty-six individual buttons, running from the main cast down to Molly, Lani and Turtle, plus a megapack that bundled most of the roster.[5]
Stickers, stationery and accessories
Stickers and other practical goods were also part of the catalogue.
- Vinyl static cling stickers: Two reusable 8″ window cling designs, first sold in 2011. By 2024 they were “now updated with new art and high-tech transparent edges”.[18][5]
- Pairing magnets: A “beautifully-packaged 4″ × 7″ 12-piece fridge magnet set”, introduced by the 2015 campaign.[6][5]
- Lucy notebook: A B5 notebook with faintly-lined cream paper and a 450gsm kraft brown cover with an inset Lucy design, also from 2015.[6][5]
- Pencil case: The notebook’s stablemate from the same campaign. It had left the store by December 2024.[6][5]
- Cotton book bag: A screen-printed 12 oz cotton bag, 15″ × 12″ × 6″ with a green handle, introduced and then upgraded via stretchgoal on the Volume Three Kickstarter in 2013.[21] The last bags were flagged as running out “FOREVER” at the end of the 2026 sale.[22]
- Sticker sheets: An exclusive “classroom” sticker sheet came with the 2011 Fan Pack.[18] Commemorative omnibus-style stickers followed with the 2020 campaign, and stretchgoal sticker sets with Volume Seven.[19][8]
- Scratch-and-sniff insert: A bonus insert that came with the 2018 Gold Edition of Volume Six. The inserts ran out within days.[16]
Posters, prints and original art

In April 2011, Veronica and Oliver added a re-made relationship chart and a wide full-cast poster to the store. By that autumn, they were also selling an accordion-folded characters poster.[17][18] For the 2015 campaign, they offered the prismatic “fireworks” group poster.[6] As of December 2024, the store listed eleven designs at 11″ × 15″ on 100lb gloss paper, among them the Relationship Chart, Fireworks, Anniversary and a matched pair of Choices posters for Lucy and Paulo.[5] The last posters were offered in the 2026 sale.[22]
The store also sold original art. Each titled pack contained three pieces signed by Veronica: an uncolored page from Volumes One to Three, a comic page painted in watercolor and an Ask Roseville High answer painted the same way. A random “Mystery pack” was available for the indecisive.[5]
Upstage

Upstage is a card game for two to six players about setting the scene and telling a story, released in 2013. Players take turns rearranging a central scene of character, place and day cards to match the story elements their “script” calls for, with plot twist cards to shake things up along the way.[23] Community member spacemousey did most of the design and playtesting and “played it a bunch with friends to figure out the problems and make rule changes until it ended up as it was”. Oliver reworked the presentation to be “less obviously ‘gamey’ and more in keeping with the theme”.[24] Advance copies were backer rewards on the Not Enough Rings Kickstarter in June 2013, and the game was on general sale in the store by February 2014.[23][25] It was still being sold in August 2019, was gone from the catalogue by December 2024, and a copy was auctioned during the 2026 anniversary sale.[20][5][2] The gameplay instructions are hosted on the store site.
Apparel, jewelry and other items
A few lines came and went early, before the store settled into its plush-and-paper era.
- Apparel: Shirts were sold through Spreadshirt from 2011, though the section had been dropped from the store by mid-2012.[18][12] A Carnival Night barrel campaign shirt later turned up on the Not Enough Rings Kickstarter in 2013.[23]
- PauloxLucy locket: A solid brass cloisonné locket sold in a velvet pouch, which debuted as the “new PauloxLucy metal locket things” at ConnectiCon in July 2011.[26][18]
- Sue necklace: A second piece of jewelry, added to the store by mid-2012.[12]
- Candy: Veronica and Oliver sold BCB-branded watermelon and sour-apple hard candy, then cleared it out in five-packs in March 2011 once the batch began to crystallise.[27] They brought the candy back as a stretchgoal of the Starting Over campaign the following year.[13]
- Convention mini-comics: Printed exclusives “extracted from various portions of the book”, made for Supanova Sydney and ConnectiCon in 2011.[28]
Bundles and special distributions
Plenty of merchandise was also sold as part of larger bundles.
- Fan Pack: The 2011 store’s starter bundle of four charms, two team buttons, both vinyl clings and the exclusive classroom sticker sheet. It had been dropped by mid-2012.[18][12]
- Back to School Set: A bundle listed as new in July 2017, and gone by December 2024.[29][5]
- Kickstarter bundles: The Starting Over campaign paired merchandise with books, promising “Massive merchandise bundles (including our new Lucy figurine!)”.[13]
- Bittersweet Club International gifts: The club launched in January 2011 promising three annual gifts, the first being “an exclusive Zombie Kimono Jasmine keychain”.[30] A BCI gift pack of club goodies was among the offerings of the 2026 anniversary sale.[2]
- Flat pack: The 2026 anniversary sale’s grab-bag of rare flat trinkets from the archives, sold alongside auctions of the final Volume Fours, an Upstage copy and a Not Enough Rings hardcover.[2]
Trivia
- The resin figurine’s promotional mini-site is still online. It was, in Oliver’s words, “one of the cooler projects we worked on, and it almost made the figurine worth it just so that exists”.[31]
- The top reward of the Starting Over Kickstarter framed the Volume Two cover art in glass taken from the authors’ retired photo scanner.[13]
- Veronica has said she’s “a bit sad” that she can’t make molded plastic figurines: “They’re just too expensive!”[32]
