Fork in the Road 2 is a non-canon Bittersweet Club International-exclusive comic, picking up the Fork in the Road timeline a decade on. Mike has built a pretty comfortable life without Lucy in it, until a teenage stranger tracks him down outside a bar one night.

Partial synopsis

The comic opens with Porsche, the teenage daughter of Mike and Sandy, serving in a tennis final before a roaring crowd. At the victory dinner, she saves her biggest thanks for her dad and gives a big “NO thank you” to her mother, who skipped every game that season. Mike defends Sandy, then goes outside to smoke.

Outside, a teenage girl stops dead at the sight of him. Shaking and tearful, she admits that she had planned the encounter and intended to hit him. Instead, she breaks down and demands, “Why were you so horrible? My mom LOVED you!!” Mike realizes that the girl is Lucy’s daughter, Chloe.

The first red-tinted flashback shows Mike finding his mother Ellen in tears over a photo album on Carol’s birthday. Ellen and Carol had been close until Carol cut contact after Lucy’s family moved away. That night, Mike tries to call Lucy to apologize, but her number has been disconnected.

From there, the rest of the night settles into one long conversation on the pavement outside the bar. Flashbacks break it up along the way, filling in the decade Mike missed and how much of it Sue spent at Lucy’s side. Chloe came with every word rehearsed. What Mike could possibly say back to her is another question entirely...

Trivia & observations

Chloe didn’t come all this way for small talk.

• This comic went to print before it went online. It debuted in the limited Fork in the Road softcover, which pairs a redrawn version of the original chapter with this sequel. The book was on sale from November 5 to 24, 2025 — per the authors, “never again” — and members got the online release on New Year’s Eve.
• At 90 pages, this was the longest BCI comic at its release, big enough that the authors “had to upgrade the entire viewing system to handle it”.
• Veronica has an idea for a Fork in the Road 3 and no plans to draw it (“It’s a nasty idea!!!”), preferring to leave the AU on “a nice definitive ending”.
